Whole Chiropractic shares space with Whole Yoga & Pilates, a public studio. You may find a class in progress while you’re here, and Dr. Robertson (a trained yoga teacher himself) may suggest you try yoga as part of your rehabilitation journey.

 

Yoga & Pilates Plus Chiropractic Care

Yoga and pilates are both great complements to chiropractic and physical therapy because they work on

  • Aligning the musculoskeletal system

  • Strengthening and mobilizing the body

  • Increasing circulation

  • Promoting balance and cardiovascular health

  • Encouraging proper breathing

Perhaps the greatest benefit of a regular mind-body practice like yoga, however, is stress reduction. Yoga practitioners learn to focus on the present moment, which can be a powerful way of helping the mind learn to relax. Even the gentlest yoga class can support weight loss, too, by reducing levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that causes the body to store excess fat.

About Whole Yoga & Pilates

Everyone is welcome! You do not have to be a patient of Whole Chiropractic to attend classes at Whole Yoga & Pilates. Patients of Whole Chiropractic are certainly not required to attend classes, either, although many find that the strengthening, stretching, and mindfulness they experience through yoga and/or pilates helps in their rehabilitation.
